She grew up around The Bay, graduated from San Francisco State University, learned to sail in El Toros at age 12, and has enjoyed being on and around boats ever since. She has been actively racing and cruising since 1992, shortly after joining the staff of Latitude 38. She is now the Editor of the Racing Sheet and other racing-relating features in the Latitude 38 magazine. She also writes the racing reports in ‘Lectronic Latitude. When not racing, she continues to be out and about as an avid cruiser. Christine co-founded the Delta Doo Dah cruising rally in 2009. With all her other duties she still acts as the Delta Doo Dah rally organizer, helping to expand the cruising horizons for untold numbers of sailors.

Carole and Pat McIntosh
The McIntoshes have had many power boats and sailboats, accumulating many years of lake sailing, trailer sailing, chartering, coastal cruising, and blue water sailing, while raising four kids.

They’ve delt with the anxiety of your first time being in deep water, trailering your boat hundreds of miles to sail in an unknown area, being out of sight of land, or being on the line for your first race. The McIntoshes began boating in Folsom Lake near Sacramento in the late 1960’s, expanded to The Delta and The Bay, have chartered in the Pacific N.W., Belize, and Panama, and have spent several years cruising Mexico and beyond. Their cruising seminars and books have helped cruisers “cut the lines” since 2009, and have co-authored CRUISING NOTES -Things to know before you go and CRUISING NOTES – Underway to Mexico.
