2 Part Seminar: What’s it Really Like Sailing the Coasts? Things to Know Before You Go!

Session I will deal primarily with important preparations for your boat and crew, and getting your cruise underway heading south. We’ll tell you what we think are the most important basic skills you and your crew must master to be safe and enjoy your cruise. We’ll show you why these skills are important using as examples the places you will visit along the California and Baja coasts and the Sea of Cortez. Also covered, depending on time remaining and Q & A’s, is sailing to Mazatlan and the Puerto Vallarta / Banderas Bay areas, and putting your boat away for the hurricane season.

Session II will, depending on topics covered in session I, continue to cover putting your boat away for the hurricane season, and the southern crossings to Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta. We will continue to relate these important skills to the various locals and conditions you will be in. The majority of time will cover the “Gold Coast” of Mexico from Banderas Bay, Tenacatita, Barra de Navidad, down to Zihuatanejo and, time permitting, further down the coast to Acapulco, Huatulco, and the Golfo De Tehuantepec, and possibly Panama. These two seminar sessions will tie it all together so you will have a safe and enjoyable -NO SURPRISES- cruise of a lifetime!
